), you may have heard about this Norwegian Yeast for a couple of years now or maybe not. It hit the states back in 2015 and hasn't looked back. Its known for being able to ferment faster and at higher temperatures than other yeast strains and for creating fruity flavors. Turnagain Brewing has already been using it for some time with their Nordic Freestyle Kveik IPA.
A few months back, they decided to make an Imperial Stout. They tested various yeasts, including an Abbey, 001 West Coast Ale, and Kveik. The Kviek won their hearts and here we are.
This Imperial Stout is seemingly made to pair with a Beer Float. It's thick and sweet with a restrained roast character. We recommend the White Raven (Oreos and Sweet Cream) from Wild Scoops in a tulip glass with a few fresh raspberries on top.
