Careers Week - Unifrog
In keeping with our commitment to provide students with outstanding careers guidance and tailored support when choosing their next step after school, we will use Unifrog; an award-winning, online careers platform. All students now have access to this website.

Unifrog brings into one place every undergraduate university course, apprenticeship, and college course in the UK, as well as other opportunities, such as School Leaver Programmes, MOOCs and every college at Oxford and Cambridge. This make it easy for students to compare and choose the best university courses, apprenticeships or further education courses for them. They can also explore exciting opportunities further afield by looking at English taught undergraduate programmes available in Europe and the USA.

Additionally, the platform helps students successfully apply for these opportunities by writing their personal statement, applications and CVs and guiding them through the process, allowing teachers to give live feedback.

Students login using their email address and password and they can do so from any computer, tablet or smartphone. We would encourage you to use the platform with your child so you can support them through the process of deciding their next step.
Car Park Safety
As you will know, the CCHS car park has a safety barrier to ensure that our students are safe when walking on the school grounds.  The barrier will only be raised for parents/carers who have an appointment on site.

If you are driving onto the school site to drop off or pick up students, please drive to the left towards the top of the school driveway to avoid the barrier.  In order to minimise traffic jams to allow access for school buses and coaches, please consider whether you would prefer to park in another nearby area to drop off or meet your child.
Thank you for your support with this necessary safety measure.

Can we also ask that you do not park close to the bottom of the ramps as it blocks the entry/exit of minibuses and coaches.
The EduLink app is the easiest way for you to track your child's attendance, conduct and progress.  You can look up their timetable and see messages from staff.  The majority of our communication is via the EduLink App so if you have not downloaded it, please do.  If you experience problems with your app, please click here for advice and our contact email address.
Uniform Expectations
Students are aware that we expect them to wear their uniform with pride.  Should a studnet experience an incident which means that they are unable to wear an item of uniform to school for a short period of time, please provide a signed note to that effect.  We have items of uniform that we can lend students for a limited period of time.  We can also offer some support if parents are experiencing difficulty acquiring uniform.
Please note, if a student arrives in school without the correct uniform and without a note from a parent/carer, the Pastoral Team will contact home and the student may be required to spend time in our Refocus unit until the correctable uniform issue is resolved.
Replacing Lost or Broken Meal Cards
Students use their card to make purchases at our various eating pods around school.  If students lose or damage their meal cards, they will be replaced for free in the first instance.  Subsequent replacement cards will be charged at £1, the monies being deducted from the ParentPay balance. Students who present at the eating pods without a payment card will be sent to the back of the queue so as not to inconvenience students who do have their payment cards ready, and will be served last by giving their name to the kitchen staff to do a manual look-up on the tills.

On-Line Reading Platform

The case is closed. Five years ago, schoolgirl Andie Bell was murdered by Sal Singh. The police know he did it. Everyone in town knows he did it.

But having grown up in the same small town that was consumed by the murder, Pippa Fitz-Amobi isn't so sure. When she chooses the case as the topic for her final year project, she starts to uncover secrets that someone in town desperately wants to stay hidden. And if the real killer is still out there, how far will they go to keep Pip from the truth?

Have your circumstances changed recently?

Parents claiming some benefits can claim free school meals for any of their children who are registered at a Staffordshire school and who would normally be at school at lunch time. School meals are a good way to ensure that your child eats well at lunchtime and you can save yourself time and money.

Even if you don't want your children to have the meals, claiming them helps their school. The more eligible parents who claim meals, the more funding the school receives.

The phone number for the free school entitlement checking service team has changed.  Should you need to contact them regarding any claims queries, their number is now 0300 111 8007  option 3, then option 2
