Newmarket will receive $1.8 million in emergency funding from the Federal and Provincial Government to assist with the impact of COVID-19

The Town of Newmarket is set to receive $1,819,600 through the Safe Restart Agreement by the Federal and Provincial governments. Newmarket is one of the 444 municipalities in Ontario to receive this funding that will be used to address operating pressures related to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Fight the bite and prevent against West Nile virus
 
It's mosquito season in Newmarket and it is important to take precautions to prevent mosquito bites to reduce the chance of getting West Nile Virus. Remember to:
  • Use insect repellent containing DEET when outdoors
  • Wear long sleeved shirts or jackets and long pants when outdoors.
  • Prevent mosquito breeding sites by removing standing water around your home
