Walmart Introduces Private Label Wine Range 

U.S. retailer Walmart has introduced Winemakers Selection, a line of 10 new glass-bottled private label wines, in about 1,100 stores across the country. The roll out reflects Walmart’s focus on private label groceries aimed at bolstering store loyalty, improving sourcing and quality and lifting profit margins. Food Dive, The Drinks Business

Matthew McConaughey & Wild Turkey Launch Bourbon 

Actor Matthew McConaughey and Wild Turkey add a little Texas to a Kentucky icon with the introduction of Longbranch Bourbon. A rare small-batch Kentucky bourbon, it's inspired by McConaughey’s Texas and Kentucky roots. The premium, embossed glass bottle is manufactured by O-I. Maxim, Wine & Spirits

Heaven Hill Releases Old Fitzgerald With New Decanter

Honoring the historic decanters originally used in the mid-1990s, Heaven Hill Distillery releases a special Old Fitzgerald Bottled-in-Bond series featuring a new ornate decanter. The 750-ml private-mold glass decanter features a long neck, sloping indented shoulders and thick bottom. Beverage Industry

Cascade Brewing’s Sour Beers Now In Smaller Bottles 

As the market moves away from large format bottles, Cascade Brewing introduces a smaller format for its barrel-aged Northwest sour beers. In place of its signature 750ml cork and cage bottle conditioned sour beers, the brewery is shifting production to "a more user-friendly and price-conscious 500ml glass bottle." Craft Brewing Business

Lenny Boy Replaces Signature Amber Bottles For Clear 

Charlotte's Lenny Boy Brewing Co. rolls out new kombucha bottles to make them more "work friendly." The signature, 12-oz. amber beer bottles have been replaced with 14-oz. clear, cylinder-shaped glass bottles with resealable gold caps. Distribution is expected to pick up. Charlotte Five 

Ommegang Saison Rosé Arrives For Summer 

Rosé wine surges in popularity as temperatures rise. Beer is bringing their own version of the pink stuff, thanks to Ommegang and their new Saison Rosé. Available in 12-oz. glass bottles, manufactured by Ardagh Group, and on draft. Beer Street Journal, All About Beer

Perrier’s Limited-Edition Glass Bottles Go Wild 

Perrier introduces limited-edition bottles bottles as part of a partnership with New York-based artist Juan Travesio. The new PerrierxWild collection includes 330ml custom-designed glass bottles. A similar collection of lifestyle products will follow. Drug Store News 

Copper & Kings Unveils Juniper-Forward Gin

Cardamom Gin Gets Redesign To Conjure Up the Orient

Redhook Releases Summer IPA 

Seattle's Redhook releases Tangelic Halo Tangerine IPA ithroughout the Northwest just as the temperatures start to rise. The new summer seasonal is available in six and 12-packs of 12-oz glass bottles. Tangelic Halo is the second new seasonal release from Redhook in 2018. Brewbound

Cascade Blonde American Whiskey Splashes Down  

Cascade Blonde American Whiskey splashes down in Texas and Michigan in a 750ml glass bottle, manufactured by O-I, to introduce a new summer sipper to lake lovers and dock dwellers. Stone Beer Co-Founder Brings Craft To Nut Butters

Stone Brewing co-founder Greg Koch moves beyond beer with the launch of Nutista, an artisanal, stone-ground nut butter line. Entry Open For 2018 Clear Choice Awards  

The Glass Packaging Institute is accepting submissions for the 2018 Clear Choice Awards. The awards are open to all North American glass container manufacturers and their customers to submit products introduced between Aug. 2017 and Aug. 2018. Enter in one of nine categories, including a new "sustainability" award.
