Absolut Rolls Out "America" Ahead Of Summer

Absolut unveils its new summer, limited-edition glass bottle manufactured by Ardagh Group: Absolut America. Along with the release, Absolut will donate $1 to Keep America Beautiful's Great American Cleanup for every photo shared using the hastage #AbsolutAmerica. Beverage Industry, BevNet

Budweiser Debuts "George Washington's" Beer 

Available this summer, Budweiser's new Freedom Reserve Red Lager was inspired by George Washington's handwritten recipe found in his military journal. The lager is available in both a vintage stubby glass bottle and a one-pint can. Food Dive

Ketel One Launches ‘Botanical’ Vodka Range

Called Ketel One Botanical, the initial three offerings go on sale in the U.S. in 750ml glass bottle, which are clear and embossed. The Diageo-owned company is hailing the range as “a first-of-its-kind vodka,” combining the use of botanicals in distillation followed by the infusion of natural fruits and botanical essences. The Drinks Business

The Dreaming Tree's Package Reflects Green Commitment 

California's The Dreaming Tree launches new packaging for it's spring wine portfolio. The sleek, new glass bottles, manufactured by Ardagh Group, are a quarter pound lighter reflecting The Dreaming Tree’s longstanding commitment to making eco-conscious efforts in support of our planet. Mugler Creates "Glass-Blown" Fragrance Bottles 

Inspired by creator Thierry Mugler’s vision, Mugler and Mugler Studio created a range of experimental fragrance bottles that look like glass-blown sculptures. Mugler recruited glass worker Frederic Alary to craft the hand-blown “eggs,” which are then infused with pigments, sculpted, and finished with a layer of gold, rhodium, or stainless steel. The Cut

Knock, Knock, Knockin’ on Whiskey’s Door 

Bob Dylan jumps on the celebrity distilled spirits band wagon with the launch of Heaven’s Door Spirits. The super-premium whiskey brand releases three whiskeys in 750ml glass bottles featuring the iron gates Dylan created in his studio, Black Buffalo Ironworks, from objects found on farms and scrapyards across America. The Whiskey Wash, Distillery Trail

Macallan Unveils New Look And Counterfeit Protection  

The Macallan has unveiled a new look across its range of single malt whiskies, which boast an anti-refill closure and anti-counterfeit technology. Inspired by Rare Cask packaging, the new glass bottle design is broad-shouldered, with a distinctive chevron cut into the bottle that tapers towards the neck. The Drinks Business, The Spirits Business

Ithaca Beer Releases Homegrown ‘Brew York’

The Ithaca Beer Co. announces the release of “Brew York” Pale Ale, the first New York State brewery to commit to high volume, long-term use of New York-grown ingredients – forecasting upwards of 1,500 barrels. Embossed Bottle Lends Distinction to Poland Beverage

Polish beverage brand Cydr Lubelski gets a distinctive new look while also reducing glass bottle weight. To lighten the new 400-mL clear and green glass bottle, Ardagh Group used the NNPB (narrow neck press and blow) production method, saving an estimated 10% weight in each bottle, while maintaining the cider’s high-pressure requirements. Down to Earth Organics Launches Bottled "Superteas"

Damrak Gin, Q Drinks Release Summer Gin And Tonic Kit  

Damrak Gin and Q Drinks partner to create a craft gin and tonic kit just in time for summer. Entry Now Open For 2018 Clear Choice Awards

The Glass Packaging Institute is pleased to announce that it is now accepting submissions for the 2018 Clear Choice Awards. The Awards are open to all North American glass container manufacturers and their customers to submit products introduced between August 2017 and August 2018. Enter in one of nine categories, including a new 'Sustainability" award.
