MESSAGE FROM MRS. ASKERNEESE
PERSEVERE THROUGH PLAY!
We are almost at the finish line for the school year. Parents are stressed. Kids are stressed. Play is a natural stress reliever! It is vitally important for healthy brain development and mental health.I encourage everyone to reflect on the things they loved to do as a child - and go for it with your kids!. This is a great time to go back to simple pleasures (sandboxes, living room forts, running through the sprinkler, flash light tag). Tactile and sensory play are really good for kids! Anything that allows them get lost in an activity discharges stress. Non-directed play allows a child to decompress and relax. For best results, parents supervise at a distance or join in and be lead by your child. After all, "play is the work of childhood" (Jean Piaget).
There are two weeks left of distance learning! We can do this. Check in with teachers, Mrs. Askerneese, or me and let us know if you need any support. We have many resources for you and your learner! Please continue to check for emails, eblasts, and texts on how we will wrap up the school year.
5th grade families-stay tuned for the times of our virtual promotion on May 20th! We look forward to celebrating with you!
If you’ve been clearing out those closets and looking for somewhere to donate, please consider our local community dental clinic. It supports many of our local families dental needs!
