So - how are we effected with the latest announcement? When can we get back to our love of hospitality? Meal kits and delivery is terrific and is keeping us on the front foot and energised. BUT - we are in this game because we love being with people, our staff, our suppliers and of course you, our guests and customer. This is why we started the business 20 years ago (this Summer!) at The Cock in Hemingford.

Step 1: From now, continued takeaway, delivery at SmokeWorks and our Chop House meal kits. See below!
Step 2: 12th April - we will open our gardens for beer and food! No requirement for a substantial meal to be served alongside alcoholic drinks, and no curfew. The requirement to order, eat and drink while seated (‘table service’) will remain.
Step 3: 17th May - we will welcome you indoors with some restrictions.
Step 4: 21st June - you can come in, dine, drink, be merry and relax in our hospitality without restriction! Big deep breath.

We remain really positive. It isn't over yet but we see a bright light at the end of a tunnel - it's coming towards us. Bring it on and bring us together again.

Mother's Day at home. We’ve got it fully covered! If you can’t see your family, order them one too, delivered to their home, and share it virtually. (Strange days eh – not much longer we hope!).

At Free School Lane we’ve revised our takeaway hours just a little. Available for delivery with Deliveroo or for Click+Collect via our website, you can get your BBQ fix at the following times. Wednesday - Friday from 4-9pm, every Saturday 12-9pm and on Sundays we’re now open from 3-8pm. We remain closed on Monday and Tuesdays for now, but as soon as we can review this we’ll let you know.

Our ‘Smokeworks at Home’ meal kit range continues to grow and develop as the weeks go by and with Mother’s Day just around the corner we’ll be offering up an alternative Sunday treat for those Mums who are more ribs, wings and rock ‘n’ roll. We’ll also be introducing a monthly ‘special’ kit from March and our ‘CHILLenge - the lockdown edition’ will be going live very soon!

So what else do we have planned for when we get to reopen our doors again? There will be a new kids menu with family sharing platters, a new student deal, some new beer cans and bottles at both of our restaurants and we’re even looking at the return of bottomless brunch at our Station Road restaurant too!
