Dressed in beautiful white ball gowns, carrying posies of flowers and on the arms of their debonair escorts, 60 Russian belles processed down the stairway of the Grosvenor House Hotel into the Great Room for their momentous evening. In front of Princess Olga Romanoff, Princess Michael of Kent, and Lord Frederick Windsor, the debutantes danced the Viennese waltz and the Waltz of Flowers from Tchaikovsky’s Nutcracker.  The dancing was choreographed by Leonid Pletnev, Honorary President of the International Dance Union and his wife Vera.
Guests were entertained by an exquisite performance from Evgenia Obraztsova, Prima Ballerina of the Bolshoi Ballet.  A dance from the young students from the Natalia Kremen Ballet School was enthusiastically applauded.

A fund-raising raffle was conducted at the The Ball with proceeds donated to Chance for Life, that provides care for disadvantaged children in Russian orphanages.

Among the guests attending were Admiral Lord West with Lady Rosie West, Vintner Alexandre de Miller de La Cerda, John Caudwell, Chrisanthy Lemos, Cosmetic Surgeon Angelica Kavouni, Director of the Natalia Kremen Ballet School Natalia Kremen, Lana Holloway, Sculptor Andrey Korobtsov, Royal Ballet dancer Julian MacKay and his sister Maria Sascha Khan from the Ekaterinburg State Ballet, Actress Nonika Galinea, Aliona Munchinskaya and Cetuem’s John and Andria Vassiliou.
