Vanessa German: Stop Shooting, We Love You

In Pittsburgh, artist Vanessa German heard gunfire in her Pittsburgh neighborhood and decided that she couldn't sit by and let children keep dying. Founding “Love Front Porch” and Homewood’s Art House, her talk is a powerful one. "Everything I learned about bravery, I learned through love."

It's time to be brave.

In October, we had a lot of fun with the topic of "Play". This November, we tackled the theme of "Bravery," chosen by our Atlanta organizer Blake Howard and his team and animated by Stewart Scott-Curran with a really awesome GIF.

From a former leader of the Czech Special Operations Group in Prague to a fine artist in Pittsburgh, this month's speakers will redefine the way you look at bravery. In New York, Brad Ludden spent his life professionally white-water kayaking, risking his life, but didn't know bravery until he started working with cancer patients. In Berlin, Justin McMurray shares his thoughts on the mythology of fairytales and how courage can be found in others.

Denver kicked off their first event with chef Ian Kleinman who says, "Bravery for a chef happens every time we put a dish out." In Cincinnati, Todd Henry tells the audience, "Creativity and bravery are two sides of the same coin."
