MetPak II Remote

Introducing the New MetPak II Remote

MetPak II Remote is a compact and lightweight multi-sensor instrument that measures a wide range of weather parameters, with a remote WindSonic wind sensor for measurement of wind up to 10 metres away from the MetPak II Hub.

The WindSonic wind speed and direction sensor is suitable for mounting on a 10m mast, with the main MetPak II Hub fitted at a height of between 1.25m and 2m (10m cable supplied). This configuration meets the requirements of the World Meteorological Organization (Guide to Meteorological Instruments and Methods of Observation).

MetPak II used to monitor environmental conditions at prehistoric temples

MetPak II protecting prehistoric temple

The Gill MetPak II Weather Station is being used as part of a comprehensive air monitoring system at a prehistoric temple site for the Maltese Department of Heritage, the government department responsible for the conservation of several Prehistoric temple sites on the islands of Malta and Gozo.

The monitoring programme is being conducted by the department to better understand how climate and weather affects the stone structures and will enable the department to identify ways of better preserving the temples for future generations.
