Dear Subscriber,

I recently listened to a very inspirational speech by my friend Frances Piche. He won the area speech content here in Vancouver for Toastmasters and he also won me over in his talk about his experience surfing. It wasn’t about surfing that got me. It was how, despite his vast physical injuries, Frances chose to focus on the beauty and timelessness of the waves and forget his troubles, his challenges, those pesky injuries.

Life lesson taken: focus on the waves, whatever they are in your life, not the pesky negative things that would otherwise bring us down and stop us from surfing, if we give them too much of our attention.

For me, my waves are the process of painting. When I get back to pushing paint around and taking it away, life challenges disappear and I feel at peace and in a timeless zone. I feel good.

I hope you can find your wave this month too,
