Congratulations to Landon Bone Baker Architects (LBBA) and the Latin United Community Housing Association (LUCHA): Their project, Tierra Linda, a 45-unit affordable housing development near Chicago's 606 Trail, brought home the Best Overall Project and Best Multifamily Awards in the Fifth Annual PHIUS Design Competition.

Winners of the competition were announced Thursday, December 5 during the 14th Annual North American Passive House Conference. The awards ceremony marked the opening of the conference exhibit hall, featuring cutting edge manufacturers and distributors of high performance building components.

Tierra Linda, translated, means beautiful land, and beautiful applies to all of this year's winners:
