The Big Apple, the Gotham State, and PHIUS All Rock!

From acorns mighty oaks do grow, and from the passive house seeds PHIUS planted years ago in New York City and State, the New York passive building community is all grown up and kicking butt.

That was evident today when NYSERDA announced its Buildings of Excellence awards in NYC. PHIUS+ projects (see below) cleaned up at the event; one project earned $1 million in incentives. "The winning buildings demonstrate that our low carbon future is beautiful, livable, and 100% possible," says NYSERDA of the honors. In addition, PHIUS-trained professionals were part of many other award winning project teams.

PHIUS has worked for years in partnership with NYSERDA on workforce development and incentive policies, and we applaud the agency's ongoing work, which is being used as a model in other states.
