Call for Papers: The PHIUS 15th Annual North American Passive House Conference, October 13 - 17

Amid the coronavirus tumult, we continue to look forward to better days--like this year’s 15th Annual PHIUS North American Passive House Conference. Presented in partnership with NYSERDA (New York State Energy Research and Development Authority), the conference will be held in Tarrytown, New York, proximate to fantastic passive projects in New York City as well as the Hudson Valley.

NYSERDA has helped make the Empire State a leader in energy and carbon reduction. The annual PHIUS North American Passive House Conference--the largest and longest running passive building event in North America--provides the perfect forum to make NYSERDA's successful programs a keystone of the national discussion.

As always, the Conference provides a forum to share the best of passive building through case studies, best practices, lessons learned, and product knowledge. Broadly, we're looking for:
  • Passive building best practices, standards, design tools, science
  • Proven technology, materials, systems
  • Successfully completed case studies in all climates with all construction types: Single, multifamily (lo, mid, hi), commercial, retrofits
  • Lessons learned from professionals in the field/practice
Deadline for abstracts: April 13, 2020
Pro Tip: Complete your abstract off line and save the doc. Then copy and paste the info into the online form to avoid losing your work to an online glitch.

PHIUS and ILFI Collaborate on Dual Certification Guide

Deciding whether to pursue PHIUS+ Source Zero or the International Living Future Institute Zero Energy (ILFI)  certification? Well, it's not either/or.

PHIUS and ILFI have produced a document that illustrates a considerable overlap between the two, as well as how the two standards differ. It's called Zero Energy and PHIUS+ Certifications: Charting the path for seeking a dual rating.
