QA/QC Pros Wanted

The demand for PHIUS+ Certification continues to grow. And that means growing demand for capable, well-trained passive building quality assurance/quality control professionals.

The PHIUS+ Rater Program focuses on single-family residential projects. The two-day course, geared toward experienced RESNET and BPI professionals, provides grounding in passive building principles as well as a guide to onsite quality assurance for the PHIUS+ program.

Next Rater Class: Feb 22 - 23, 2020 , Scottsdale, Arizona (before RESNET), 8:30 am - 5:00 pm
The PHIUS+ Verifier Program qualifies professionals to execute QA/QC on large-scale multifamily and commercial buildings. Verifiers learn protocols specific to low- and mid-rise projects.

Next Verifier Class: Feb 10 - 12, Westborough, Massachusetts, 8:30 - 5:00

Some Encouraging Developments at the State Level

State energy codes are, in many ways, more important than the national model codes in that it is states that adopt energy codes (often heavily amending the national model codes) and it is municipalities that typically enforce them. We're encouraged that three states have now included PHIUS+ in their energy code:  Washington, New York and Massachusetts. Stay tuned for upcoming blog posts that provide more detail on how these states have incorporated PHIUS into their codes, as well as future plans.

New Certified and Pre-certified Projects

Since the last edition of the newsletter, certifications continued rolling.

Congratulations to all the project teams!
