Another Successful Neighborhood Picnic
Neighbors in Action and East Point Breeze Neighbors hosted a fun and well attended neighborhood picnic on Saturday, July 15th. Volunteers from NIA and EPBN cleaned, weeded and planted flowers in the Childs School yard and afterwards, about 100 people stopped by for burgers and dogs provided by NIA and EPBN. Thank you to all of our volunteers! We are already looking forward to next year's event.

Update from the 17th District
The 17th Police District Advisory Council (PDAC) is heading up a new program called Books and Badges, which will have our officers reading to kids at various community spaces, like DiSilvestro Playground, Chew Park, and Wharton Square Recreation Center through the end of summer. They've partnered with the South Philadelphia Branch of the Free Library, but are also looking for a few book donations focused specifically on diversity.
If you'd be interested in donating a book for 4-8 year olds from the Anti-Defamation League's recommended diversity book list, please reach out to Charlie at publicsafety@epbneighbors.org.
As always, check the
calendar on our website for all EPBN meetings and events as well as events that are of interest to our neighborhood. If you have any events that you would like us to consider adding to the calendar, please feel free to
email us.
