Facebook Timeline For Brands
A Video Guide to the new Visual Elements

That's right! Timeline is coming to your Facebook Page on March 30, 2012 whether you like it or not. Since it's such a big change I'm working on a series of videos and cheat sheets to help you weather the transition. The link to the first video is below. I will have at least three videos in this series and maybe four. They will come out once per week via this newsletter and my blog

This first video is just a quick overview of the new look and some of the new visual elements. Since this change is a total-overhaul of the look, I thought it would be a good idea to also provide you with a cheat sheet of the sizes for all the new visual elements. You can find that at the top of the right-hand column of this newsletter.  Feel free to watch the video and download the cheat sheet. :)

If you have any questions, comments, or concerns about Timeline for Brands you can just reply to this email and it will come directly to me. I am always happy to answer questions.

Did you enjoy the free video and cheat sheet?
Why not share it with your friends?

Cheat Sheet! Sizes for Timeline Visual Elements

The new visual elements are certainly different than the old ones. Why take the time to look up the size of that cover photo, profile picture, app box, or milestone picture, when you can just click the link below to download the free pdf cheat sheet!

Facebook to Replace "Check-In Deals" with More Efficient "Offers"

At the February 29 Marketing Conference, Facebook announced that soon "Check-in deals" would be replaced by "offers". Offers are a much more efficient, and I think, small-business friendly couponing product. In order to take advantage of the check-in deals you had to have a Facebook Page setup for each location of your business, because the check-ins were tied directly to the "Place" or location pages on Facebook. If you had one location, that was easy, but if you had multiple locations, this meant that you had to build and maintain Facebook Pages for each of these locations.

Facebook Offers will make it so that a business that has only one Facebook Page can offer a coupon for all their locations! The only catch to this, is that, Offers are only available for select Facebook Pages right now. There is no word on when they will offer it to everybody, but it is coming. Here is a link to the Facebook Offers Guide, so you can be prepared when this released to you. And remember to keep checking these newsletters or my blog for an announcement on when this will be released.
