Welcome to the third issue of Transform Nutrition e-news. Transform Nutrition is a consortium of five international research and development partners. Using research-based evidence we aim to inspire effective action to address undernutrition.

Strengthening public health nutrition education in India

A new research brief by Transform Nutrition partners Public Health Foundation of India outlines why it's vital for India to investment in training and research in public health nutrition. PHFI also had their blog Tackling malnutrition in India: the role of higher education published in the Guardian Global Development Professionals Network.

Cows, missing milk markets and nutrition in Ethiopia

This new publication Cows, missing milk markets and nutrition in rural Ethiopia by John Hoddinott et al looks at the dairy sector in rural Ethiopia and considers the nutritional impacts of cow ownership on households.

Together for Nutrition conference 2014

Transform Nutrition and POSHAN are pleased to announce the conference Together for Nutrition 2014: Working Across Sectors to Improve Nutrition in India, which will be held October 29–30, 2014, in New Delhi, India.

The Transforming Nutrition Summer School at IDS will take place this year from July 14-18 in Brighton, UK. This year's theme: what does accountability mean for nutrition and how we can all do this better? The course is aimed at policy makers, influencers and practitioners from across the world.

A new research brief has just been published Women’s empowerment and nutrition: what does the evidence tell us? This brief considers how cash transfers, agricultural interventions, and microfinance programmes impact on women’s empowerment, health- and nutrition-related behaviours.

Transform Nutrition seminar series at IDS

The Nutrition Group at the Institute of Development Studies and Transform Nutrition host a seminar series which presents ideas and research findings in nutrition and international development. All seminars are now being live streamed. See here for summaries and opportunities to watch again.

IFPRI launch 2013 Global Food Policy Report
