Brookshire Park Nature Walk (Saturday)
High Country Audubon offers a free naturalist-led nature walk at Brookshire Park every first Saturday. This walk will be held rain, snow, or shine, and is a loop of about a mile in length. Best to wear shoes you don't mind getting wet and be ready for that crazy Boone weather!
Coffee House Live! (Saturday)
The Coffee House has become a favorite tradition where old friends and new friends meet, sample delicious desserts and enjoy quality entertainment.The featured performers The Drones – playing an eclectic sampling of old, new, original, and fun tunes on fiddle, guitar and banjo.
Local Author & Humor/Agriculture Columnist, Chuck Lieberman (Thursday)
High Country Writers is delighted to welcome Chuck Lieberman, local humorist and author of The Annals of the North Carolina Jewish Christmas Growers Association, Volume One – The Early Years. The meeting is free and open to the public. Lieberman will discuss how his book came to be written, read from selections from his book, followed by a question and answer session and book signing.
The State of the Arts in NC with Frank Stasio (Thursday)
Longtime NPR correspondent Frank Stasio will join us to talk about the importance of the arts in North Carolina. Stasio is the host of The State of Things on North Carolina Public Radio, WUNC.
