Eastertide ---> Pentecost
|
|
What a joyful Easter morning we spent together, and what a glorious early spring it has turned out to be!
Back in the meetinghouse after a winter away, we've been singing "Alleluia" every chance we get and look forward to a spirited Pentecost Sunday on May 28.
If you haven't in a while, join in on worship on the Hill some Sunday soon.

Saying Thank You and Good-bye to Jenn
|
|
Jenn, our sexton of at least 13 years (we've all lost count!), served her last day on May 14. She has long and reliably cared for our buildings and the people who use them, which we honored her for and celebrated with cake at coffee hour on Sunday, May 7.
Jenn always did her job quietly, when no one was watching, never in the way of things. We'll miss her and wish her all the best in whatever comes next.
As for what comes next for us, our new sexton is Jack Goodman who's been looking for a part-time job and is pleased--and a little intimidated--to serve in this position.

WAM's First Show of the Season
May 18-June 3
|
|
Our downstairs neighbor, WAM Theatre, has its first show of the season opening soon.
At the Unicorn Theater in Stockbridge, this promises to be what one person who knows theater and the arts aniticpaites will be a major "hit of the summer," which should have us all wake up.

Catch this concert, Cantilena doing Bach, on Sunday, May 21st, at 2 PM. Lenox resident Andrea Goodman conducts, and Church on the Hill musician Charlie Fitzhugh continues his long membership with the choir, while Liz, our pastor, joins in the for the first time.
It's at Trinity Church, Lenox, on Walker Street. To buy tickets in advance, click here or on the picture to the right. Get a jump on the summer season of excellent music in the Berkshires!

The labyrinth of the chapel at 55 Main Street will be open for use during daylight hours. Look for the sign out front saying as much and stop in to take a meditative turn, often what any given day needs.
|
|
Stop in to see members staffing the administrative desk and enjoy a moment in our lovely chapel at 55 Main Street. Maybe even tend to a bit of church business. Liz is in on Mondays 10-1, Emily W. is on Tuesdays 10-1, Davis covers Wednesday 10-1, and Bob is there on Fridays at (you guessed it) 10-1.

Food Pantry
The Lenox Food Pantry is housed at the Methodist Church on Holmes Road. It's open on Saturdays 10-11 AM, and any who need of its provisions should stop in then. Church on the Hill is one of four congregations that help keep it going, through volunteering, donations, and financial gifts.
If you'd like to make a monetary donation to the food pantry, please make a check out to Lenox Food Pantry (and not to the church) and send it either to our church office at 55 Main Street, Lenox MA 01240 or to Food Pantry Coordinator, UMC-Lenox, 6 Holmes Road, Lenox, MA 01240. You could also put a check (made out to the Lenox Food Pantry) in the collection plate any Sunday you like.
It's easier on church bookkeeping if gifts are made directly to the Pantry. Thank you!

Mark Farrell, our church administrator, created and directed this. Alchemy provided us with music. Justin Allen donated the drone footage. Many thanks to all!
