(2013, 73 min.)  This investigative documentary examines the story of Loreta Velazquez, a Cuban raised in New Orleans, who served as a spy for the Confederacy, fought at Bull Run and was wounded at Shiloh. For over a century, historians dismissed her as a hoax but this film intends to prove otherwise.

Following the screening will be a discussion by film director and producer Maria Agui Carter, and scholars Margaret Vining, Virginia Sanchez Korrol and Catherine Clinton who will discuss the role of women during the Civil War.
