Center for Integrative Research and Exhibition is turning ONE! In celebration, we are showcasing the works of artists, musicians, writers, curators, thinkers, speakers, that we have hosted over the last year, along with some new faces, June 1, 2012. This one night event will feature music by Sarah Ann Phillips, Slumgum, Chord Four, Casey Anderson, Sheela Bringi, Eric Glick Rieman, a skype/live performance with Brendan Carn, Colin Woodford, Chris Kallmyer, and special guests and a live performance by Lily Taylor. We will also display audio/video works by Jordan Bartee and Carmina Escobar, an interactive digital work by Kelly Monico, graphic scores by Sarah Ann Phillips and Eric Glick Rieman, paintings and objects by Scuba, a three channel video installation by Seth Fuller, and publications by Mary Anne Redding and Mike Smith. In addition to CIRE’s line-up, curatorial team, Matt Wright and Janire Najera, will be sharing Ghosts in Armour, an immersive exhibition showcasing 20 European artists with a virtual, interactive gallery environment. This programming would not be possible without the support of the Santa Fe Complex. All proceeds of this event will be donated to the Complex to help them keep their doors open for other folks like us.
Opening reception for Ghosts in Armour is Friday, May 25th, 6-9pm
I had the opportunity to perform at The Deep Ellum Outdoor Market. Such a cute market! There was local honey, baked treats, hand-made crafts, and even all-natural frozen mimosa popsicles by Social Ice. Yumm! Deep Ellum has a special place in my heart because of it's rich history of Texas music, and it happens to be the most charming part of Dallas, TX. Hopefully, I will play there again in the near future!
