FDA Rules Require Manufacture Dates on Supplement Labels
Editor’s Note: This notice was first published in the May 2014 ALTRUM News. Because a number of Dealers have been asking questions about this, the article is reprinted below.
FDA regulations for Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) require labels on dietary supplement products display a “manufacture date†rather than an “expiration date.â€
To remain in compliance with the latest FDA regulations, all ALTRUM nutritional supplement labels will list a manufacture date rather than an expiration date. There have been no changes to ALTRUM supplements.
Each batch of the ALTRUM products is rigorously tested to verify quality and potency.
ALTRUM nutritional supplements should be stored in a cool, dry place out of sunlight and with the lid tightly closed.
As a general recommendation, most ALTRUM supplements are best if used within 36 months.
VisionPower, Ultra Daily Enzymes, Daily Enzyme Support and Ultra Probiotics are best used within 18 months of the manufacture date. These products can be refrigerated to extend shelf life.
Longevity Enzymes and Nutritional Drink Mix are best when used within 24 months.
These estimates are conservative for the industry. Dealers and customers can be confident ALTRUM products are high quality, and they remain effective throughout the recommended product-use period.
