Pushing Through an Artist's Block

At the end of 2020, I found myself in the worst artist block I have yet to date. It is no surprise that year left its mark on everyone, zapping the energy and spirit out of the most resilient. My creativity flowed to stop, and instead of pushing back I relinquished. 

So how does one push through a block? 

To tell you the truth for a few months there, I did not have an answer to that question. I thought perhaps the best thing I could do is to take a long break. But I found the longer I took away from my craft, the more I started to question my abilities and the more my creativity dipped. What is Value in Art

Value is the component of color that measures its lightness or darkness on a scale ranging from pure white to pure black.  One of the most important elements of art is to learn and see value. It is considered to be one of the most important variables to the success of a painting and one of the most difficult tasks for artists to learn.  Value in art should be simple to understand but when color is included it can make it a challenging concept to grasp.

Hi everyone, Joy Nunn here.  Some of you will remember me from Art at the Main where I served as the founding member, Director and artist member for 15 years.  Over that time I know I must have met and talked to you in person as Art at the Main grew and added many events to its schedule.  Some of you may have purchased a card or painting of mine as well.  What many of you do not know is that I moved from Salt Lake City, UT to Portland, OR at the end of 2019, just before COVID hit everywhere and changed so many plans and ways of doing things.
