Week  20
FARMER'S MESSAGE
By Jocelyn Craig
Windmill Field Manager

This week we are steadily checking off the list of field cleanup tasks. We have tidied up the herb garden. We've done a final harvest of eggplant and outdoor tomatoes, and are pulling all the plants and associated materials from the field. As a result, this week you'll be getting some more green tomatoes in your share and we invite you to pick your own cherry tomatoes (red and green) from the field. Also, this week will be Sabrina's last at Sylvester Manor. Please be sure to wish her well in all of her adventures including (and surely not limited to) Spain, Haiti and her own non-profit in Baltimore! We are so proud of her and grateful for the time she has spent here at Sylvester Manor. That sentiment extends to Joe, Thomas and Sifeziwe who will all be around at least through the Harvest Festival on October 26th.

Rather than lay too much emphasis on goodbyes...let us shift focus to what's new in your share this week: broccoli and the long-awaited butternut squash! Get your roasting pans ready! Also, consider joining us at the library this Friday at 7pm for a screening of "The Bullish Farmer" followed by a discussion.

Enjoy the Harvest!
