Week  21
FARMER'S MESSAGE
By Jocelyn Craig
Windmill Field Manager

Week 21, our final pickup of the CSA season has arrived. A big thank you goes out to all of you, our members, to our hardworking seasonal crew and to the rest of our staff and board who have been supportive this farm season. The 2019 season was not without its challenges. We started with a wet spring, an out-of-commission tractor and a novice crew. Mother Nature threw in a dose of hot weather and a few weeks of dry. There were weed and insect pest pressures common with a field that has been in intensive production for a number of years. Despite these challenges we were able to deliver value to your share each week. What this year's crew lacked in experience, they made up for in their eagerness to learn and their perseverance through difficult times. Your CSA participation and your patronage to our Farmstand has helped make this our most successful season yet.

We are always looking to improve on the CSA experience. Please keep your eyes out for a CSA survey to be sent out in the next couple of weeks. Also, please note that the Farmstand will continue to be open through November with limited hours.

Enjoy the Harvest!
