Sylvester Manor's Clean Water Project: A Call to Action
State-of-the-art temporary kitchen and restroom units arrived at Sylvester Manor and will go online this Spring.

Join us today for the March one-month intensive campaign to raise the funds we need to meet our budget and complete Sylvester Manor's state-of-the-art clean water project. This spring, sparkling new temporary kitchen and restroom facilities will connect to a constructed wetland vegetated system that augments conventional septic system technology, greatly reducing nutrients returning to our groundwater and bays. Sylvester Manor's innovative system is the very first of its kind installed in Suffolk County, and the project will provide the Department of Health Services with data essential to making like technologies, already in wide use in other regions of the country, available for routine approval on Long Island.

Please make a contribution today! For a gift of $250 or more, your name will be included on a plaque at the site to honor your support of this environmentally important project, which is also a critical step in the restoration of the Manor House providing alternative kitchen and bath facilities for resident farmers and program participants.

Every dollar counts as we race to the finish for the planned opening of facilities to the public on or about April 15.

Summer Youth Program: Sylvester Manor Educational Farm

Sign your child up for a summer of discovery at Sylvester Manor Educational Farm. We offer Youth Programs for Little Sprouts (ages 3 and 4) and Young Farmers (ages 5-7) between July 3 - August 19 from 9am-12 noon.

Along with engaging in daily art, music, and yoga activities, children will plant and harvest vegetables, prepare and cook dishes using the produce they have grown, feed and care for the various livestock kept on the Manor property, and learn about the environment and history of Sylvester Manor.

Space is limited. Click here to learn more and register today.  If you have any questions, please contact Program Director Caroline Scudder at cscudder@sylvestermanor.org.
