Open Studios Art Tour
Oct. 11-12 & 18-19

546 First st, Unit A, Avila Beach, CA 93424

I've been busy this year! Swing by beautiful downtown Avila and view my most recent surfboards, originals, prints, cards. Enjoy a taste of Kelsey See Canyon Vineyards wine and admire my artwork on the labels. I will have my latest release, "Curiosity" (image above) available in prints, cards and 2 limited edition giclee sizes: a stunning 30x40" edition of only 50, and 16x22" edition of 100.
Now that all my matted prints are archival, and due to raising costs from suppliers, I will be raising the price of my 11x14" and 16x20" matted prints to $29.99 and $59.99 after this year's Open Studio tour, so make sure and stock up for yourself and Christmas gifts as well. I'll be open both weekends from 10am - 5pm. Email here or call for more info: 805-441-8277.
Open Studios is a countywide event, over 200 artists will be participating this year: online catalog.

I will have a series of expressive small paintings with abstract backgrounds that I picked up from a Joanne Ruggles workshop in Big Sur this year. It was a healing and creative experience, and these paintings are a joy to create.

As far as my health is concerned, I'm doing fantastic. I dropped the 20 pounds I gained during chemotherapy (yes, I actually gained weight during cancer treatment!), I've been juicing every day for over two months and am regaining my energy for surfin
g, running and yoga. I'm even surfing in the cancer resource benefit surf contest, Surfing for Hope, on October 4th at the Pismo Beach pier. My bluegrass band, "Uncle Scrumpy Dunegrass trio" will be playing the dinner the night before. Join us if you can!
Surfboard Art Festival
The surfboard artworks of 30 renowned local artists and community groups, including my work in progress above, "The Embrace," will be auctioned for the benefit of Project Surf Camp, a non-profit organization that conducts esteem-building water activities for people with special needs and their caregivers, and Morro Bay in Bloom, a non-profit organization that reaps what it sows--civic beautification, especially public art.
Artist's reception: Oct. 18 @ Forever Stoked Gallery in Morro Bay 5-9pm
