Don’t have time to take a class?  How about treating a friend or family member?  Maybe a gift certificate for the holidays.

Busy times at AFS . . .
While you may have been busy raking leaves, or peeking at them, there has been a lot going on at AFS.  The new H.H.M. Pavilion is almost complete.  Many volunteers have helped with everything from building the doors, to putting up the last of the battens.  It’s just about finished and ready for a host of new classes coming in 2012.

And, while we haven’t yet smelled bread or pizza baking at the school, the work of our talented stone mason, George Mosca, and the first Timber Framing class, have created a first class wood fired bake oven and a new wood structure to protect it from the elements.  Starting in 2012 we will have classes in artisan bread baking too!

Other news . . .
Our 2012 calendar of classes is being put together now - a major project that Gail Grimaldi works endless hours on.  So many new classes and subjects that will inspire!  So, keep a watch for the new listings – everything from beading to boat building!

Keith Ellis and our Outreach Team did a fantastic job of meeting so many new folks at various events and speaking engagements – if you are one of them, please consider becoming a member and we hope to see you at the school soon.

Help Support the AFS
The Adirondack Folk School is a § 501 (c) (3) not-for-profit school that relies on funding from our class tuition, membership, donations, and grants.  While we work diligently in requesting grants, financial times make it difficult for many foundations.  Your financial support is critical.  Funding is needed for everything from hand tools to operating expenses.  If you can be one of our “angels”, you will help keep our mission alive – “inspiring hands, heart & mind”.  Thank you!
