Greening the Healthcare Sector: Think Tank 2013
Climate change, natural resource depletion and environmental pollution are just some of the reasons to focus on greening the health care sector. There are opportunities to improve public and environmental health as well as realise important economic savings from doing so.
Sustainable health care and hospital practices continue to expand and improve around the world. Achieving change at the local level requires the commitment of health service management, effective change management strategies, the presence of a local 'champion', and a commitment to collaboration across disciplines and departments .
This year’s CAHA-AHHA workshop will provide participants with strategies to implement change in their organisations by drawing on real-world experiences of local and international experts.
Presentations will cover initiatives to enact behaviour change and achieve corporate engagement. International guest speaker Dr Blair Sadler from the Healthier Hospitals Initiative will share progress around the world in the Global Green and Healthy Hospitals network. This event will also showcase an innovative new social media platform that is allowing health and sustainability professionals around the world to communicate with one another. It will share key initiatives to help accelerate a global best practice in healthy and environmentally sustainable healthcare.
