50 Years of VSI update
Galway Event:
The Galway Food and Thought event took place in early November brought over 40 people together to celebrate the work of the Galway Local Group in Development Education and local and international volunteering. There was food from Nepal and inputs from Foundation Nepal and VSI.
Dublin Event:
20 past members of the VSI Development Education Group met in late November to share memories, experiences and some great food. There was a display of resource materials produced by the group along with lots of photos from the Namibia Bus Tour and many Development Weekends.
50 Years stories needed:
As part of the VSI 50 Years we are running a digital history project. We have gathered several stories from the early years of VSI and are now working on documenting the main events and programmes from 1965 to 2015. How you can help:
  • Do you have any photos from your volunteering time with VSI? It would be great if we could get a copy perhaps with a short story.
  • Write a short story of your volunteering experiences with VSI for the website.
  • Would you be willing to be interviewed about your volunteering experience?
