It's Showtime at Your Library
Summer Read

 Entries accepted June 3-July 28, 2019
ALL AGES are welcome and encouraged to participate!
 
What is it?
An 8 week reading/activity oriented program. Once you
complete and submit your reading/activity, you’ll receive a prize and be eligible for a grand prize!
 
How do I join?
No registration required. Each week you will submit the goal you have completed online at www.charlestonlibrary.org.
Please ask Staff for any help with submissions.
 
Where do I claim the prizes?
All Adult prizes may be claimed at the Service Desk or the
Information Desk. All Babies/Kids/Teens prizes may be claimed at the KidSpace Desk.

Grand Prize Drawing Friday, August 2nd!  
You do not need to be present to win.

 
*Your week 6 reading/activity must be submitted on our website by 10:00am July 15th to be eligible for your weekly prize!*
 
Each week you can read at least 2 hours or choose 
to complete an activity listed below.

Wake up Mr. Turtle and participate in stories, activities, crafts, and other fun literacy builders. One program, but different times to come and enjoy the fun.

We’ll be reading stories about past and present Disney characters and have  an alphabet craft to go along with each adventure. Come and join us!
Books & Babies

Ages infant through 36 months with an adult.
Bouncing rhymes, songs, finger plays, stories, and other early literacy fun will be presented.

Comic Book Round Table
Monday, July 8

Bring your favorite comic book/graphic novel/manga and let’s have a round table talk. Feel free to cosplay your favorite character. Help your friendly Library staff member learn more about the comic book world!
DIY Jewelry
Tuesday, July 9

Try your hand at making jewelry using beads, clothespin springs, paper clips, and paper which we will have on hand. If you like, bring your own beads and charms to use.

In honor of the 50th anniversary
of the moon landing and in conjunction with EIU’s Booth Library display, “On the Shoulders of Giants: The Moon
and Beyond” (beginning July 1st), we are showing Apollo 13. Feel free to bring your own snacks and drinks!

podcast. Topics covered will include: hardware and software needed, editing, planning your programming, publishing, and additional helpful tips!
