Summer Read

ALL AGES are welcome and encouraged to participate!
What is it?
An 8 week reading/activity oriented program. Once you
complete and submit your reading/activity, you’ll receive a prize and be eligible for a grand prize!
How do I join?
No registration required. Each week you will submit the goal you have completed online at
Please ask Staff for any help with submissions.
Where do I claim the prizes?
All Adult prizes may be claimed at the Service Desk or the
Information Desk. All Babies/Kids/Teens prizes may be claimed at the KidSpace Desk.

Coles County Courthouse Tour
Wednesday, June 26
Address: 651 Jackson Ave., Charleston, IL 61920
Park in the library parking lot by 9:45am and from the Library we will walk to the Courthouse. You can park there, but there is very limited
parking (please meet us at the south entrance if parking there).
Join us for this informative tour of the Coles County Courthouse! Chief Judge Mitchell Shick (unofficial courthouse historian) along with Kirsten Bays (local attorney with knowledge of courthouse architecture) will lead us on a tour while discussing the history and architecture of the Coles County Courthouse, along with a tour of the underground tunnel that leads to the Coles County jail. Tunnel not handicap accessible. Make sure to dress accordingly regarding weather for our walk over.
