Brothers and Sisters in Christ:
We would like to thank all of you for your prayers this week. We know many of you were aware that conversations surrounding a plan to “re-open” were happening this week and your prayers gave us the confidence we would be able to discern the steps God prefers we take as we follow His lead.
We will be sending a more detailed communication mid-week next week (week of May 24) but due to the number of emails, text messages and phone calls the pastors and elders have been receiving we wanted you to hear that we believe we have a plan to phase in face to face worship. We do not, however, have time to do anything different this weekend. We ask for graciousness from each of you as you see incremental changes: for some too slow, for others too fast. We want to live in faith and be good neighbors. As Paul says in Romans 12:18 “If it is possible, as far as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone.”
For Memorial Day weekend, we are still LiveStream only with no public face-to-face worship. While to date we have never turned away anyone who chose to join us while a worship service is going on, we encourage each of you to join us via computer, Roku, AppleTV, Amazon Fire, landline, smart phone or another device.
We would also like to take this opportunity to thank all of you who have lost a loved one while they served in our military; their sacrifice and yours insure our freedom. Thanks to all of you who served in our military honorably and sacrificially. We grieve with you all the loved ones lost. In addition, we share in the sorrow that the Memorial Day parades meant to honor those lost in war and all those still living who have served are not taking place.
Living in anticipation of seeing you all face to face,
The Elders of Community Reformed Church,
Paul Lucas, Dirk Schrotenboer, Cory Olsen, Kyle Borst, Sue Hill, Josh Barnes, Jason Decker, and Doug Huizenga
