Christmas Giving Opportunities: Ways to be The Church this Christmas
What:  Zeeland Area Prayer Drive
When:   Saturday, December 19, 9am
Where It Starts:  Community Reformed Church (parking lot)

How: Starting at Community Reformed Church, each vehicle will be given a card with verses and prayer points along with the name of the next church you will travel to. Cars will make their way to 10 churches in the Zeeland area. At each church you will receive your next prayer card as well as a map with directions to your next stop.

Why:  We want to pray as a unified community of believers in the midst of this Advent season.  Join us on Saturday, December 19 beginning at 9am sharp.  There will not be any lengthy speeches or special music - just a few brief directions, a kick-off prayer, and the sweet incense of God’s people praying ascending before the throne of God.
Please Join Us!
Please continue to pray for those that have contracted COVID-19 in our Community Church family and prayers that symptoms are mild and attenuated.

We express our sympathy to Phil & Marcia VandenBerg (10533 Melvin St. Zeeland, 49464) in the passing of Phil's sister, Darla Smith. A private memorial service took place on December 9th with Pastor Kurt officiating.

We express our sympathy to Tom & Sherri Meeuwsen (9429 Prairie Ridge Ct. Zeeland, 49464) following the passing of Tom's father, Lloyd Meeuwsen, on November 30th.

We express our sympathy to Carol Haverdink (11488 North Lake Dr., Holland, 49424) following the death of her brother, Don Beekman, on December 4th.  No services are planned at this time.

Alaina Meppelink, daughter of Tony & Emily (2789 E Chester Dr. Zeeland, 49464) has a Brachial Cyst that became infected on Monday night.  They drained the cyst and will have an appointment in two weeks to discuss its removal.

Bonnie Meppelink (7130 88th Ave Zeeland, 49464) experienced a TIA and is on a heart monitor and some medication to determine the next course of action.

Ben Terpstra (11059 Stanton St., West Olive, 49460) was discharged from Mary Free Bed on Wednesday after completing his OT and PT!

Norm Nykamp (10684 W. Stockbridge Ct., Zeeland, 49464) continue to pray for treatment as cancer has spread to other areas. Undergoing radiation, however, the issue is also effective pain management. Pray for Norm, Judy, and their family in this difficult time.

Bill Venema (10918 Campanel Dr. Zeeland, 49464) continues to improve from legionella pneumonia and we also pray for their family as they grieve the loss of their grandson, Joel Boeve.

Dick Nuiver (10537 Southfield Dr. Zeeland, 49464) underwent a kidney transplant at the University of Michigan hospital on December 11th. Praise God that they found a living donor.  Please pray for the donor and family, the transplant team, and Dick, that they will all stay healthy and that all will be well. God is good! Thank you for your prayers!

Melissa VanHoven (9000 Ransom St., Zeeland, 49464) continues to show signs of improvement - praise God!  They've lowered her dependence on the ventilator and actually had it turned off with just oxygen for about an 8 hour stretch - a big step forward!  She is getting dialysis every other day, and her kidneys are showing small signs of trying to work! They are hoping to move her to a long term care facility for rehab soon, as long as she keeps heading in a good direction.  We praise God for answered prayers!

We would like to thank everyone for the cards and calls, and a special "thank-you" to Pastor Kurt and to Pastor Doug for their calls in the recent death of my brother. We also wish to express our thanks to the Community Cares Team for their cards and comments for my brother, and for their follow up on our son's death last April.  God bless you all.  In Him,  -Boyd & Linda Berends
