Graduate News

Phoebe Street, Richard Lowe, Nicola Hart and Kane Oliver-Parry are opening in The National Theatre's new musical The Light Princess. Richard Carson, Emily Tierney and George Ure are in the UK tour of Wicked and Matthew Warhurst and Toni Peach are in Victoria Wood’s Housewife 49 at the Old Laundry Theatre, directed by Mountview’s Head of Theatre Directing, Peter James. Cameron Sharp has joined the London cast of Rock of Ages while Bronté Barbé is playing Penny in the Far East tour of Hairspray. Aaron Hayes Rogers, Alan McHale and Kaisa Hammarlund can be seen in The Boys from Syracuse at the Union Theatre and Adam Foster, Linford Johnson, Richard Vorster and Suzanne Nixon are in the War Horse UK tour. War Horse also boasts crew members and Mountview production arts graduates Dan Richardson and Ashley Gadd.

Hornsey Town Hall Update

RIBA award-winning architects Purcell have been appointed to lead the design team for the redevelopment of the iconic Hornsey Town Hall in Crouch End. Purcell has over six decades of experience, with an excellent record working on comparable heritage and arts projects, notably St Paul’s Cathedral, the National Maritime Museum and Theatre Royal Haymarket.

Mountview's Chairman, Vikki Heywood CBE, commented “we are absolutely delighted to be working with Purcell whose experience of the restoration and redevelopment of heritage buildings is first class.” This news follows on from successfully securing initial support, including a development grant of £482,000, from the Heritage Lottery Fund last year. The appointment of Purcell is a key moment in this transformational project to refurbish a distinguished Grade II* listed building as a new home for Mountview and bring it back to life for arts, cultural and educational use.
