Soda Fire

Idaho Power would like to thank our engineers and construction crews who spent the last few weeks restoring power to southwest Idaho and southeast Oregon after the tremendous damage caused by the Soda Fire, including loss of power to 590 Idaho Power customers in Jordan Valley. Our crews followed behind firefighters to ensure those affected by the fires could return to their properties with the complete use of their power.
For more information on who was affected by the fire-caused outages, and to see how our crews work to rebuild transmission throughout the fire season, please visit these other resources: For the most up-to-date information on active and contained fires, as well as rehabilitation efforts in your area, please visit InciWEB.

Staffing Changes

Terry Martens, Idaho Power senior real estate specialist and liaison between Idaho Power and landowners along the B2H route, retired on August 1. Terry worked for Idaho Power for five years, serving as point of contact for B2H since 2010. Prior to joining Idaho Power, Terry worked in transmission rights-of-way in Iowa. In his retirement, Terry looks forward to moving to be near family in Salt Lake City, landscaping his new yard, and taking up fly-fishing.

Randy Lane, Idaho Power senior right-of-way agent, has been job-shadowing Terry over the past few months and is excited to fill his new role working with landowners. Prior to joining Idaho Power in 2007, Randy worked for the Ada County Highway District and Idaho Transportation Department. He also supported himself through college by fighting fires for the BLM. He holds degrees in real estate and business from the University of Idaho and Boise State University.
