Announcing the 2012 Modern Quilt Guild Annual Survey, QuiltCon class openings, new Facebook page and a spotlight on the Chicago Modern Quilt Guild.
The Modern Quilt Guild
Nearly a year ago we launched our first Modern Quilt Guild Survey. The facts our members shared in that survey provided the information for us to start planning QuiltCon. We have much more in store for our membership over the next year, but once again, we need your input to make it happen.

We hope you will take the time to complete the 2012 Modern Quilt Guild Survey. It should take around 10-15 minutes and the information you share will help us develop an even better guild in the future.

Complete the Survey
All information shared in the survey is confidential and is not associated with your name or email address. The deadline to complete the survey is October 12.

Thank you for your input!

New Facebook Page

As a reminder, the Facebook discussion group will be closing on September 24. If you would like to follow MQG on Facebook, please like our new page
The Modern Quilt Guild is working to expand its website, which will include discussion forums. We want to provide a place for our members to interact online and based on member feedback, we’ve determined that Facebook is not the best venue for discussion.   We are taking steps to implement an improved system and you will see the results of that in the coming months.
Our new Facebook page isn't intended to be a substitute for a discussion group. Rather, it is a page that can be followed by those of you who want MQG's updates (announcements, links to blog posts, etc.) to pop up in your Facebook feed.  Be sure to like us so that you don't miss out on anything!

Guild Spotlight

"Mystery of the Missing Migrants" Inspired Quilt
Inpired by "Mystery of the Missing Migrants" by Charley Harper, made by Sally for Jen

In June, the Chicago Modern Quilt Guild announced their first Modern Art Challenge Swap. Participants brought in a picture of their favorite work of art along with a couple of coordinating fabrics in a bag. Participants randomly chose partners and were challenged to make a mini quilt inspired by art. After two months to work on the pieces, the quilts were revealed at the August meeting. You can see the 24 quilts that were created in the challenge on the Chicago MQG's flickr group. If you are interested in hosting this challenge with your guild, check out the challenge criteria here.

We want to hear what your guild is doing. Send us a note with interesting activies, challenges, swaps or charity projects that your guild has done!
