Pump Track Workshop
WAMBA are excited to announce that they will be running two, 1 day Pump Track construction workshops on the 22-23rd September.
The workshop will be at the "Black Stump" car park
on the Kalamunda Circuit where we have been granted permission by DEC to build a pump track. The site will utilise an area of the old car park and will consist of a professionally designed pump track which will be constructed under the supervision of Dirt Art
who are one of Australia’s most experienced and renowned trail design, construction and management companies.
The “hands on” workshops will cover not only pump tracks but also construction of individual features (berms, tabletops etc) and sustainable building techniques (compaction, materials etc).
This fantastic workshop is free to attend, however you must be a WAMBA member. WAMBA membership costs $70 and includes insurance whilst you ride and, most importantly in this case, work on WAMBA organised trail building projects. For more details on WAMBA membership click here
This is an amazing one off opportunity to learn from the best or simply improve your track building skills, however no experience is required and all tools will be provided.
If you wish to attend then please send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org
by the 10th September and include your preference of either Saturday or Sunday.
You may also be help to out helping us source equipment. If you know someone who owns or rents either a 3 ton excavator or a plate compactor then please get in touch with Ian on the email address above.
Luvin Shovels - Trail Building Day
Luvin Shovels is the exciting new Black Diamond trail in the Perth Hills being built by WAMBA vice-president Lindsay Alsop and his merry band of trail builders. Check out Trent Cain's fantastic video
to see what they have been up to.
As you can see, they have already made great strides. However to really progress the trail, and hit Lindsay's Christmas deadline for completion (his is expecting his second child then), WAMBA are organsing a massive day of trail building on Sunday 9th September. Will be running a morning and an afternoon shift. Obviously you are more than welcome to come to both if you have the time. There will be a BBQ lunch at 1230 that both crews are welcome to attend. We will meet at the Dell to walk up to the trail.
Morning shift: 08:00 to 13:00
Afternoon shift: 12:30 to 16:30
Please advise Lindsay if you are coming on email@example.com
for catering purposes.
See you on the 9th!
