Participate in LendingTree's $50,000 Small Business Grant Contest

Small businesses are the backbone to the U.S. economy and the sector is growing. According to the SBA, more than half of Americans either own or work for a small business, and they create about two out of every three new jobs in the U.S. each year. We know small business owners face a long list of challenges. For many, the obstacle of securing financial resources needed to grow a business claims the top spot on the list. That's the driving force behind LendingTree's inaugural $50,000 Small Business Grant Contest, where the winning small business will receive $50,000 to fund the needs of the growing business.

Rural Iowa At A Glance
2016 Edition

This bulletin summarizes current demographic, economic, and social trends in rural Iowa from 2005 to 2015; and is modeled after the USDA’s Rural America at a Glance. Data are reported for Iowa’s metro, micropolitan, and rural areas. Metropolitan includes central counties with an urban center over 50,000 people, plus outlying suburbs linked by commuting patterns. Micropolitan counties have an urban center of at least 10,000 people, plus surrounding suburbs. Rural counties (technically non‐core) have no urban center of 10,000 or more. Rural and non‐core are used interchangeably. Read More

Iowa is known for its friendliness and welcoming nature. Wherever you land, you'll be at home! Many Iowa counties and cities have gone the extra mile for veterans and transitioning service members through becoming Home Base Iowa Communities.

Certified Higher Academic Military Partners (CHAMPs) offer premium higher education incentives to veterans and their families. Businesses need to sign up, the county needs to be a sponsor and we need an incentive package.  You can read more at https://www.homebaseiowa.gov/.
