Happy Holidays from AI MAXTools!

*Disclaimer: Some may feel that AI MAXCube is a waste of time. On the contrary, it allows the user a quick mind break without even leaving the Modeling environment -- and has even been considered a productivity-boosting tool! (OK, maybe not... but at least it's a fun diversion!)  All users play at their own risk, and may experience an increased level of enjoyment (perhaps even euphoria) while using Creo Elements/Direct!  For further enjoyment and *real* increased productivity, try the AI MAXTools suite of products!

2012 Tax Savings on Software

The IRS has extended the Section 179 Tax Deduction to allow businesses to deduct the Full Purchase Price of qualifying software purchased during the 2012 tax year -- no depreciation required!  This can result in great tax savings -- perhaps as much as 35%*!

To qualify, the software must be placed into service on or before December 31, 2012.  Learn more about Section 179 and check out the Section 179 Calculator.

*Be sure to consult your tax advisor to determine the exact benefits you will gain under Section 179

Tips & Tricks

Creo Elements/Direct (CoCreate) Tips:
  • Smooth Zooming using the Control-Drag: Under versions prior to v18, the user could zoom the viewport by holding the Control key, pressing the right mouse button (RMB) and dragging the mouse.  Under Version 18 and later, this behavior was changed so that the mouse actions were consistent across all Creo apps.  To re-enable the old behavior, select "File->Settings->Viewport..."  and then select the "CoCreate mouse interaction mode" option.  Zooming using Ctrl-RMB will now work as it did before!

AI MAXTools Tips:
  • AI MultiRename (part of AI DesignMAX) makes it easy to clean up the object names in your structure browser -- no more .1.1.1.1 names!  See it in action!
