Project Attachment Register

Part of a condition of being funded through the ACT Screen Investment Fund is for a production to take on "attachments".  An attachment is a paid position which gives the attached person experience and credits.  This attachment program is designed to help the ACT build capacity in various positions. In most cases, productions will take on a number of attachments but would require that the attachee have had some exposure to the role that they are taking on.

Interested?  Then fill out the form to get onto the register.

Local Film 'The Competition' Screens at Dendy this December

The Competition (written and directed by Simon Weaving) was shot in Canberra and tells the tale of two ageing reality TV judges who are sent to a small country town to audition singers and bands for a reality talent show. The movie stars a host of Canberra actors and performers, including Leah Baulch, Jay Sullivan, Chanel Cole, Owen Campbell, Julia and the Deep Sea Sirens. Needless to say the soundtrack is superb.

The Competition premieres at Dendy in Civic on December 11, and will show until Christmas. See the trailer and more at thecompetitionthemovie.com

Special Screening of 'Stray Dogs' with Director Tsai Mong-Liang

Acclaimed director Tsai Ming-liang will present his award-winning film Stray Dogs as part of the conference Taiwan: the View from the South on 7 January 2015 at The Auditorium, China in the World Building (188), Fellows Lane, ANU.

Stray Dogs tells the story of a family that eeks out a living on the fringes of bustling Taipei, moving between the wooded limits of the city proper, to the many nooks and cracks in that offer shelter in the urban fabric. Rejecting most of what characterises conventional cinema today, Tsai’s Stray Dogs is a patient meditation, moving deftly beyond narrative to art.

The screening will be followed by a short discussion with the director.

This film screening is part of the Season Three Asia and the Pacific Screens: Survival Politics, sponsored by the Australian Centre on China in the World.
