2017 ACT SCREEN ARTS FUND
Minister for the Arts and Community Events Gordon Ramsay announced the recipients of the 2017 ACT Screen Arts Fund last week. The grants will help the successful applicants further develop their screen arts practice and take the next step in their respective careers. A list of the 2017 recipients and can be found below:

  • Vanessa Gazy – Bluebelle (Feature Film)
  • Andrew Pike – Pumphead (Documentary)
  • Melanie Calvert – The Blue Tier (TV Series)
  • Mia Thurgate – Race to Rescue (Documentary)
  • Georgina Jenkins – Professional Development (The Athena Project)
  • Christian Doran – The Last Time Traveller (Game Development)
LIGHTS! CANBERRA! ACTION! SCREENING
Grab a picnic blanket and join us at the screening of the top twelve finalists of Lights! Canberra! Action! 2017. The screening will take place at 8pm on Friday March 10, at Senate Rose Gardens.

FLICKERFEST 2017
Flickerfest is excited to be bringing the National Tour to Canberra across two nights, showcasing the Best of Australian Shorts and Best of EU Shorts programme, with films hand-picked from the festival’s 2400 entries.

Tour Date: Wednesday 5 April - Thursday 6 April

HOT SHOTS PLUS

Screen Australia’s Hot Shots Short Film Fund has been reimagined as a proof of concept program and retitled Hot Shots Plus.

Production funding is now open for a narrative, short-form proof of concept; and development funding to advance it to a low-budget, longer form project.

The short-form project can take the shape of a short film, series pilot, or other proof of concept across all platforms (film, TV, online and virtual reality), and can be up to 30 minutes in length.

Deadline: 20 April 2017
