Screen Australia Roadshow Comes to Canberra
ScreenACT is finally proud to host the Screen Australia Roadshow. Screen Australia invites all levels of filmmakers to attend the Public Information Session on how to agency is focusing its efforts to promote, grow and support Australian storytelling. Screen Australia welcomes your contribution with the first hour being a presentation from the speakers and the second hour a meet and greet over tea and coffee. This is a once in a year opportunity to connect with the industry and find out more about new programs and broader current policy issues.

After the intense seven days of writing, pitching, researching and forming their concepts, the participants will have even more work to do by the 15th August. Once the final concepts are delivered the top ten concepts will be selected.

Administration/Communications Assistant - ScreenACT - Full Time
ScreenACT is looking for an entry level administration/communications assistant who has an interest in and passion for the screen industry. The ideal applicant will be a people person, have solid computer skills such as Excel and Word, top social media skills (Twitter, Facebook); writing skills, can work unsupervised, is a team player, has a passion for the industry and is not a clock watcher.
The perfect candidate will be flexible and creative and will become an important part of the ScreenACT team. This role will require some after hours work and has the potential to expand into a more senior position depending on the candidate. Would suit a media and film, PR/Communications graduate though open to anyone with the right skill set.
Administration duties such as answering phones, drafting correspondence and scheduling appointments
Account support such as processing invoices
Assistance at events
Assisting with application processing and reporting
Updating social media and website
Other duties as required

Get in Quick! Andrew Pike Lecture on Distribution this Saturday
ScreenACT is proud to host a lecture with Andrew Pike and his great knowledge on distribution in film. Andrew Pike will be giving a presentation which will focus on pitch materials for the commercial marketplace and aspects of distribution and exhibition. This will be beneficial to all levels of filmmakers who are in the process of developing a documentary and/or a feature film. Distribution is an important part of filmmaking and Andrew's expertise in the area will give you first hand knowledge on how and when to approach a distributor.
