Do The Write Thing Essay Challenge Winner,
a Coastal Bend native!
This young lady submitted an essay for "Do The Write Thing Essay Challenge", sponsored by Communities in Schools.  Out of over 1,800 essay entries, the top 24 attended a banquet in their honor. One male and one female were chosen to represent the Coastal Bend in Washington, D.C. to participate in several round-table discussions about how they can affect positive change for their generation.  Not only was her essay chosen as the winning essay, but it will be bound, presented and entered into the National Library of Congress.  Foster Angels provided her with new business attire and spending money for her life-enhancing experience in while in Washington, D.C.
She is the only foster youth to ever receive the Commissioner's Award of Excellence.  Recently, this young lady was adopted by her sister and will have a forever home.
FAST Night with the Corpus Christi Hooks
FAST Night at the Ballpark was a great success!  Not only did the Corpus Christi Hooks have a great game, but we were able to share our mission to everyone in attendance as well as on 1360 KKTX during the play-by-play radio feed.  We will continue to maintain partnership with the club, as they have and will give us multiple opportunities throughout their seasons to come.
Baseball Camps
Over two different camp weeks, six foster youth were given the opportunity to train under the elite athletes of AA baseball, as well as their Manager and Trainers!  This is a prime example of the generosity that the local ball club has for their sponsored partners.
Thank you, Corpus Christi Hooks!
Give Them Wings Shoe Drive
Give Them Wings Shoe Drive was a 3-week effort that reached multiple counties.  We delivered shoes to Corpus Christi, Harlingen and Laredo CPS offices, in an effort to get foster youth back to school in confidence with their head held a little higher.  As we also offer school supplies to those in need, we thought it would be something different encourage kids to join a sports team or have the ability to participate in PE Class with no hesitation.  We appreciate the support we received form the surrounding areas in order to get this accomplished.  Over 250 pairs of shoes were sent out, and $1,000 was raised!
Party with a Purpose will take place on November 9, 2019 at the          Executive Surf Club.  This is a night to enjoy, with 3 hot bands, a Silent Auction and fun for the whole family.  If you know of a business that would be interested in becoming a sponsor, please contact us.  We have $250, $500 and $1,000 levels available.  Please join us in our 2nd Annual fundraiser, we'll send details soon.

Mark your calendars for November 12, 2019, as Day of Giving is a wonderful way you can support our organization.  Not only do we raise funds and awareness for our mission, but with hard work, our funds will be matched!  As always, your donations stay in our local economy, helping children in our community.  Stay tuned for more information as the date gets closer.

Every year, we honor our amazing case workers who work so hard to provide the foster youth in our Region with the resources they may not have access to.  Not only are these wonderful people a voice for children who cannot speak for themselves, they allow us the opportunity to help in a manner where we can provide basic needs and life-enhancing experiences.  This year, we will be hosting 3 luncheons in different counties for these selfless case workers who don't always get the recognition they so much deserve.  Photos to come.
