Student Spotlight: Q&A with Victoria Greenberg
Victoria Greenberg currently serves as the Region 3 Student Director. She served as the Co-President for Jefferson Medical School's AMWA student branch during the 2011-2012 academic year. She attended college at the University of Maryland, College Park.
How did you become interested in AMWA?
I remember attending AMWA’s recruitment event, the s’mores night, and hearing all the girls talk about their passions for medicine and reform, and they all seemed very spirited and truly interested in AMWA. It was very refreshing and I felt comfortable pretty quickly. I then decided to look into AMWA by reading up on the national website. From then on, I felt like I had to join!
What has been your biggest success to date involving AMWA?
I think our most successful event was the recent Miss Representation screening. We often have lunchtime talks, so it was nice to get a group together to watch a well-made documentary. Afterward, we had a really great discussion and it made me so proud and happy to observe everyone contributing. One girl mentioned that she didn’t really consider herself a feminist, but was surprised by how much she identified with the film.

Donate to the American Women's Hospital Service
AMWA's charitable arm, the American Women's Hospitals Service (AWHS) supports healthcare in underserved communities around the world. One of the key programs of AWHS is the Overseas Travel Grant, which helps fund travel for medical students working abroad in areas of need. In honor of the 95th Anniversary of AWHS, we encourage all students to donate $9.50 to help keep this program going. Even donations of a small amount can go a long way in making a difference.
