Penn's open expression guidelines, explained

In light of frustration from student protestors facing disciplinary action for recent demonstrations, the DP took an in-depth look at Penn’s open expression guidelines and the role of Penn’s Committee on Open Expression in evaluating the rights of students to protest on campus.

Sports

  • Penn men's basketball is looking stronger than ever ahead of its Ivy championship matchup against Princeton, but will have to overcome a lot to beat the Tigers — a team it lost to earlier in the season.
  • Penn women's basketball has secured its spot in Ivy Madness and will play Princeton in the regular season finale, where star senior guard Kayla Padilla will play her final game at the Palestra.

Today in DP history

On this day in 2017, the DP published a full transcript of its interview with former Penn President Amy Gutmann, discussing economic diversity, Penn's status as a sanctuary campus, and more. The DP more recently sat down with current Penn President Liz Magill earlier this year.

  • Philly students are often bombarded — on social media and IRL — with seemingly endless options for how to spend our free time. Luckily, Street has rounded up the can’t-miss events for the month.
