Happy 2019!! I hope you all had a great holiday season :)
In the vortex of graduate school and the holidays, I stopped hitting publish on these newsletters. Thank you for your patience while I hit recharge and reset! My all-time favorite reflection resource is Susannah Conway’s annual Unravel Your Year. In it, she helps guide you reflect on 2018 and map the year ahead for 2019, including choosing a word or theme for the year. My top contenders for 2019: Abundance and Heart's Desire.
I also just launched an online art gallery with my beloved, Michael Karsouny. He's a contemporary artist based with me in NYC and Beirut, Lebanon. Check out the wares (I particularly love the Shine (I am) collection) and let us know if you're interested in buying a print to adorn your walls this year! :)
If you are looking to make lasting career and business moves in 2019, here are two great options. Email us after you enroll in either one, and we'll give you a $50 refund as a thank you for being part of the JB community :)
- A two-session Pivot Jumpstart with one of our amazing Pivot Coaches. These are some of my favorite people on the planet, and they'd be a great thought partner to work through "stuck" areas and envision what smashing success looks like for the year ahead.
- A membership to Momentum, my private community for side-hustlers and solopreneurs. I host bi-weekly Q&A calls where you can ask me anything on life, work, and business. You'll also get instant access to my entire course and call library, including the (He)art of Podcasting, (He)art of Book Publishing, Delegation Ninja, and more.

"Before Ashley Adamczyk became the owner of Beach Town Pops, a Los Angeles-based gourmet popsicle business, she worked in television. Adamczyk worked on the reality TV series Survivor. She found herself on a remote island and went to the grocery store to buy popsicles. The store didn’t have any, so she decided to make her own. Pretty soon, Adamczyk’s popsicles became a booming business.
Making such a major career pivot meant seeking out advice. Business strategist Jenny Blake asks the question of what your next big move would be, if you could suspend the fear and “what if?” doubts from your mind. Blake answers this question in her book, Pivot, and in the Pivot Podcast. The podcast specializes in helping listeners to rediscover (or simply discover) their passions and move towards building careers therein.
“I was searching for an answer to the question, ‘What’s next?’” Adamczyk says, “Pivot illustrates the ways one can leap frog from career path to the next. I mean, who knew I would be making popsicles as a career?”"
- #SelfCare App: "#SelfCare is a free, simple, and beautiful relaxation companion.
It's a safer space to take care of you." It's the game app that goes from disorder to order, more relaxing with each interaction.
That's it for now . . . THANK YOU again for reading, for your support, and for being part of this adventure with me.
And please feel free to reply and say hello any time! I would also love to hear what's on your mind and what questions you have so that I can address them in future newsletters :)
