THE 10TH WORLD CONFERENCE OF SCIENCE JOURNALISTS

SAN FRANCISCO - October 26 - 30, 2017

A WORD FROM THE WFSJ PRESIDENT

"If you have never been to a World Conference of Science Journalists, which takes place every two years, now is the time. From the experiences of reporters, editors and publishers from dozens of countries, you will learn about obtaining access to information and sources, building resources and support, and employing the latest tools of the trade. You will see and hear how colleagues have struggled and triumphed to break big stories, add context and depth to basic narratives, and reach wider audiences and readerships. The location of the 2017 conference (San Francisco) will provide an immersion in current technology and current controversies and developments in science, sending you home with fresh stories and techniques."

Curtis Brainard
WFSJ President

SPONSORSHIP MAKES WCSJ2017 HAPPEN!

Sponsorships and partnerships will enable emerging and seasoned science journalists to develop their knowledge of cutting-edge science by participating in WCSJ2017 and build global capacity for the critical work of bringing science news to diverse audiences.

Early sponsors are providing crucial support for the 10th World Conference of Science Journalists. WCSJ2017 is grateful for a generous Diamond-level sponsorship from Johnson & Johnson Innovation, which has been a strong backer of past conferences over the years.

We are also thankful for support from the Gordon and Betty Moore Foundation, Burroughs Wellcome Fund, American Chemical Society, HHMI and Annual Reviews to help us bring journalists together.

Substantial fundraising for WCSJ2017 is required to support travel, hospitality, training, and programming for journalists and students from the developing world, and we need your help. If you know of a foundation, institution, or company interested in supporting this endeavor, please visit our
Support page or contact Rosalind Reid via ros@casw.org.

A full Sponsorship Packet can be downloaded from the Conference website.
