Next Teaching Topic at Calvary
Sunday, February 21 • 9:00 & 11:00 a.m. @ Calvary
Our teaching topic for this Sunday is “Jesus Our Teacher!”  We have begun a new teaching series over the 6 weeks of Lent called "Who Do You Say That I Am?”  We’ll be looking at the early ministry of Jesus, particularly as Jesus enters into the world of various people who encountered Him in ways they didn’t expect.  In many respects, as He did this,  He turned people’s ideas of God upside down.  Who is Jesus, and how does His entry into our world disrupt and change our view of God, and ourselves, and what we are doing with our lives?  And what is, ultimately, our response to His question, “Who do you say that I am?”

Update on Staffing Recruitment at Calvary
The Leadership Team is pleased to report that we are in the process of seeking candidates for the positions of Worship Arts Pastor and Pastor of Children’s Ministry.  We began advertising these two positions January 2016 on a variety of Christian College and ministry job boards.  To date we have received 5 applications for the Worship Arts position and 2  for the Children’s Ministry position.  Efforts are also underway to advertise these positions through various social media sites to reach the largest possible audience of prospective candidates.

If you know individuals who may be interested in either of these positions, or if would like to help us profile these ministry opportunities in your network of contacts, please contact Sandra Thiessen at our church office (, Neil Kaarsemaker (, our L.T. contact for the Worship Arts Pastor position, or Malcolm Scott (, our L.T. contact for the Pastor of Children’s Ministry position.  Please be in prayer for God’s direction for applicants to apply and for wisdom and discernment as we review the applicants and make our hiring decisions.

Promise Keepers Conference
March 11 & 12 @ West Ed. Christian Assembly
Every man wants to know his life counts for something.  He wants to know that there is a greater purpose and plan than the everyday routines and trials he experiences. The world teaches that a greater life is experienced through what you own, achieve, and experience. God teaches that greatness begins and ends with Him, and that by His grace, He invites and empowers us to a “Greater” life.  Promise Keepers Conferences are large gatherings for men to be encouraged, equipped, and challenged in their walk with God.  To register, go to:

Pray for Willis Salte, newborn baby of Brennan & Melanie Salte, who has been in the Stollery Children's Hospital this week with a serious bacterial infection.  Fortunately Willis is responding well to antibiotics, and hopes to be home in his own bed soon!  Also pray for rest and recovery for Brennan & Melanie (and Jude)!
